death of the fox

Death of the Fox Brewing Co.

Local brewer and avid history lover Chuck Garrity is onto something good. Chuck, president of Death of the Fox Brewing Company and his partners Kathryn Garrity and Dan Natkin, have added a bit of a flare to the growing area of Clarksboro. Their brewery, Death of the Fox, us unique in that it is the first in the state to be both a coffeehoyse and a craft brewery. Yes, you can come early in the morning for a caffeinated pick me up, and then enjoy a cold beer in the afternoon of evening. In fact, they are soon to add a coffee roastery, coming this spring!

Upon entering the space with its high ceiling and urban edge decor, you notice something...a sense of comfort, much like the warm cozy feeling of a hunter's lounge. This is exactly the feel they were going for. Death of the Fox Brewing Company pays tribute to the meeting house of the first fox hunting club in America, The Gloucester Fox Hunting Club, which dates back to the early 1700s and is located onky a mile from the brewery. Many years ago after a fox hunt, participants would head back to the tavern, also called Death of the Fox, to mingle and unwind. Death of the Fox Brewing Company succeeds in offering that sam atmosphere. Warm, comfortable couches and low tables intermingle well with the handcrafted higher tables and bar, made from local wood. You'll take in the comforting smell of coffee, and you'll breathe a relaxing sigh.
